Head Coach – Edward Harwood
Edward is a level 4 LTA accredited coach.
After school he trained in Berkhamsted and Barcelona (Spain) whilst playing on the Pro ITF Futures circuit. Now he has transitioned into coaching players of all ages and abilities and joined Sarratt Tennis Club in 2021.
Ed picked up a racket at age 5 and has always been a all round sportsman and while training in Berkhamsted from age 11-18 he decided to drop other sports to focus on a tennis playing career and had played multiple tournaments at regional/national level in UK before playing internationally.
During Ed’s time in Barcelona for a year as his main base at 18, he trained with others In tennis academy Teia. He would head off to play tournaments in other parts of Spain and rest of Europe and pick up speaking a good level of Spanish and Catalan while living with a family.
Ed’s other interests are other sports, learning additional languages and playing chess.
Edward will not only enhance your game, he will also re-string your racket.
Coaching Rates
1-3 players – £35 per hour
4-8 players – adults £10 per person per hour and
children £8 per person per hour

Wayne McDonald
Wayne was our coach at Sarratt for many years and it is with great sadness that we have to share the news that Wayne passed away on the evening of Thursday, 13 April leaving behind his wife and four young boys.
A Just Giving fundraising page has been set up by members of Rickmansworth Tennis Club, where he was most recently coaching, to help support his family. This is the link if you would like to donate.

Rickmansworth Tennis Club are also hosting an American Tournament on Saturday 29 April to raise funds for Wayne’s family.
The event will held on Saturday 29th April from 2 pm at Rickmansworth Tennis Club instead of social tennis and the entry fee is £10. In case you don’t know the format, it’s a doubles tournament and you play each round with a different partner. The tournament is friendly and open to all over 14s at Rickmansworth, Croxley and Sarratt Tennis Clubs, where Wayne spent many years coaching.
This is a great opportunity for the clubs to come together and remember Wayne and support his family. Please register to attend in advance and bring the cash along on the day. Tea and cakes will be available all afternoon for a donation, so have hunt around for your spare cash. All contributions are very welcome.
